A Russian Photographer Took These Portraits With Real Animals. Incredible Dream Photography

Katerina Plotnikova Girl and a Deer

Moscow-based Russian photographer Katerina Plotnikova has taken a series of incredible photos with the help of real animals. There is no Photoshop involved – just a group of elite animal trainers and a surreal, mystical quality that Plotnikova brings out in her work.

The creatures she centers these photos on are just unreal. I haven’t seen most of these in real life, let alone posed with them for a photograph. Have a look below:

While this seems very dangerous, the photos were taken with 2 professional animal trainers on-hand at all times.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey: “Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold” lyrics

Thorin Oakenshiels

Full lyrics to the dwarves’ song from chapter 1 of The Hobbit.

Far over the misty mountains cold
To dungeons deep and caverns old
We must away ere break of day
To seek the pale enchanted gold.

The dwarves of yore made mightly spells,
While hammers fell like ringing bells
In places deep, where dark things sleep,
In hollow halls beneath the fells.

For ancient king and elvish lord
There many a gleaming golden hoard
They shaped and wrought, and light they caught
To hide in gems on hilt of sward.

On silver necklaces they strung
The flowering stars, on crowns they hung
The dragon-fire, in twisted wire
They meshed the light of moon and sun.

Far over the misty mountains cold
To dungeouns deep and caverns old
We must away, ere break of day,
To claim our long-forgotten gold.

Goblets they carved there for themselves
And harps of gold; where no man delves
There lay they long, and many a song
Was sung unheard by men or elves.

The pines were roaring on the height,
The winds were moaning in the night,
The fire was red, it flaming spread;
The trees like torches blazed with light.

The bells were ringing in the dale
And men looked up with faces pale;
The dragon’s ire more fierce than fire
Laid low their towers and houses frail.

The mountain smoked beneath the moon;
The dwarves, they heard the tramp of doom.
They fled their hall to dying fall
Beneath his feet, beneath the moon.

Far over the misty mountains grim
To dungeons deep and caverns dim
We must away, ere break of day,
To win our harps and gold from him!

The pines were roaring on the height,
The winds were moaning in the night,
The fire was red, it flaming spread;
The trees like torches blazed with light.

The bells were ringing in the dale
And men looked up with faces pale;
The dragon’s ire more fierce than fire
Laid low their towers and houses frail.

Living in Nature

How far would you be willing to go to minimize your impact on the planet?

There are growing number of people
who have decided to live light on the earth
to not be a part of problem anymore.
I spent the last few years with four of them
striving for harmony with nature
in the most pristine corners of United States.

Eric Valli

Photographer Eric Valli has assembled an absolutely stunning series of images, documenting the lives of people who have decided to live out their lives “Off the Grid.” Valli says he spent a number of years living with four different groups, each one living at a different degree of separation from society.
